Abstract
Anterior cruciate igament9ACL) reconstructions using central one-third of bone-patellar tendon-bone autograft with miniarthrotomy and one-tunnel technique were performed on 25 consecutive patients between January 1993 and March 1995. 16
patients(11
chronic and 5 acute cases) of them, followed up more than 12 moths were reviewed and evaluated with Lysholnr functional knee scoring system and radiographic patellar height.
The average follow-up period was 17.5 months ranging from 12 months to 27 months and the average age of patients914 male and 2 female) at operation was 34.8 years ranging from 18 to 55 years old. The average Lysholm functional knee score was
improved to
72(range, 37-90) from 59.4(range, 37-74) in 11 chronic cases and 77.7(range, 68-89) in 5 acute cases after reconstruction. To evaluate the change of patellar tendon length, we measured the average patellar height value by Blackburne and Peel
method. The
average value was 0.78(range, 0.53-1.03) to 0.70(range, 0.52-1.09) after operation and there was no significant difference because both were in normal ranges.
Miniarthrotomy technique for ACL reconstruction using one-tunnel technique and central one-third bone patellar tendon-bone autograft may be a good procedure which is giving short operation time, adequate notchnplasty, minimal operative acar due
to
elimination of lateral incision and improvement of clinical results.
